Are you happy that you are doing
everything you can to develop your child's reading skills?
Do You Want To Do The Best
For Your Child? Then Read Here All About The Never Fail System
That Ensures Your Child's Reading And Writing Will Be The Best In
The Class.
"Some Teachers Laughed When
Parents Said They Were Going To Use This System, But Not When They
Saw The Results" Dr Paul Lamarre
Are you the parent who wants
your child to succeed in school?
Are you the parent who is
willing to assure your child's progress?
If YOU'RE that PARENT, I WANT to HELP you
IN THE QUICKEST AND EASIEST WAY!
Important research studies keep reporting that parent
involvement is 8 TIMES more important in determining a child's
academic success
THAN WHERE YOU LIVE
THAN HOW MUCH YOUR HOUSE COSTS!
If you are as concerned as I am
about your child's progress in school, you must hate it when...
You see other children in your child's kindergarten classmaking
progress and your child doesn't seem to be.
You're willing to invest time and effort to support your child's
kindergarten program...
but you just don't know how.
You ask your child's kindergarten teacher for material to help your
child at home and the answer is:
- Read to your child every day.
- Bake cookies for a class
party.
- Volunteer to cut up veggies
for Stone Soup.
You go online and find article
after article with long lists of things to do...
with no suggestions on HOW TO DO them.
You realize you have no idea which EXPERT suggestions are the most
important for your child to learn.
You don't know WHY the suggestions are important...and...you're not
an expert!
You visit a Teacher's Store looking for materials...and have no idea
which will help YOUR child.
You can't find what you're looking for.
You cringe at the price of a book -- or workbook -- that looks
lovely. It's full of color graphics, but it's not thorough.
You'll have to buy other products to accomplish what your child
needs.
A friend discovers a product that gives her child a "leg-up," but
won't share her information.
Why?
YOUR child might make more progress
than hers...
If ANY of these STATEMENTS describe your experience...I can assure
you...
YOU ARE NOT ALONE!
Some years ago I experienced many
of the same problems.
Now, you may be surprised to learn that I've spent most of my
professional life as an educator: A TEACHER. I hold a Ph.D. in
Reading Education. That includes clinical experience in the
diagnosis and remediation of reading difficulties.
I'm known as a READING SPECIALIST.
My frustration began when I accepted a challenging assignment: to
teach remedial reading with youngsters from first to seventh grade.
I'd never taught primary children. I knew very little about primary
grade children...especially and the KINDERGARTEN and first grade
levels. I'd taught high school and university students. Now I was to
help first graders considered "at risk."
I had to teach these children. I had to help them acquire skills
they'd somehow "missed" in their kindergarten year. And...I had
to do it quickly. More than that, what I taught had to be effective
so they could succeed in their regular classrooms...and meet their
year-end goals.
I searched through every publisher's catalogs available in the
school. I spent countless hours in Teacher's stores. I read and
re-read articles online.
I'd been trained to assess and evaluate programs and materials.
I needed to find a coherent and thorough program.
All I could find were bits and pieces. I could put together a
workable package, IF the school budget would allow for it.
BUT...there was no way my school had the $1,500 I felt could be
useful...just for the BASIC material.
I was disappointed!
I was on my own!
I had no useful material and limited primary experience.
BUT...I was a teacher and I had to
build A SUCCESSFUL PROGRAM.
When I assessed my young students, I learned:
They couldn't recite the
alphabet -- they sang it!
They couldn't name letters -- not even those
IN THEIR OWN NAMES!
They didn't know their birth dates!
They didn't know their home addresses!
They didn't know their phone numbers!
WHAT'S THE
BOTTOM LINE IN LEARNING TO READ?
These children were in first grade.
Their skills were the same as those of many beginning kindergarten
students.
The most important task was to help them LEARN the alphabet.
Really learn it. THAT'S THE BOTTOM LINE!
Short drills, over a period of time, would help. They had to learn
to recognize the letters by name, in correct order. When they could
name letters correctly, in random order, they could made more
progress. To write, they had to learn to print the letters,
accurately.
These were the vital, basic steps.
But...how long can a person drill the alphabet before the children
get drowsy...or wiggle in boredom...or even begin to create
disturbances?
I had to keep them focused and alert for a full half-hour.
WHAT DO I DO
AFTER 5 MINUTES OF ALPHABET DRILL?
I followed my instinct!
It told me to go back to my own children's experience.
My son had learned to read, WITHOUT FORMAL TEACHING, in his
kindergarten year. So had quite a few of his classmates.
Their teacher presented many activities that LED the students to
understand what READING IS...without ever having a reading
lesson...the kind usually taught in first grade.
Among his treasures, Greg had a worn copy of the alphabet pages his
teacher had used.
Each letter was on a separate page with the upper case and lower
case forms printed on it. Each upper case letter formed the backbone
of an animal that was used in a four-word sentence...written across
the bottom.
Picture the letter H. The sentence is, "Harry Horse hates hats." The
"H" was fashioned into a horse with a tail, a head, and a hat on the
head. Each letter was done in the same way.
That was it. No teacher's manual to help. No directions to follow.
WHAT COULD BE
DONE WITH THIS?
How could a simple image and a
four-word sentence keep a child's interest and attention?
Once the students could remember the names of the letters, I could
ask them to spell individual words in the sentences. That gives them
practice in letter-naming...out of alphabetical order. Wow! I was
gaining plenty of material to maintain their interest.
As each new story was added, we recited all the letter stories from
A up to the letter we were working on. That helps develop their
memories.
The ability to remember words is important in getting students to
read fluently!
Since they knew each letter story, by heart, we could pretend read
their written forms. I could show them a letter card and they could
recite the sentence.
I added saying the letter name to see if they could recite the
letter story. I could also say the letter sound. Again, they could
tell me the letter story. Finally, we recited the sentences, in
order...WITHOUT any cues.
The kids loved it!
They loved the letter stories!
They loved the activities!
Every once in a while the animal
name was the same as that of a child in the group. What a look of
surprise and delight on that child's face as the letter story was
introduced!
There was no trouble learning that story! More than that, the
delight was long-lasting...and motivating!
MORE NEW
ELEMENTS!
Even though the pictures had
nothing to offer in terms of counting, I realized I could introduce
ordinal numbers with those same sentences. First, second, third,
fourth, last, and next...are words every teacher uses in telling and
showing children what to do...and the order they are to follow.
My kids would know what those words really meant!
Not only could I use the words first through fourth, I could now ask
a child to point to, or show me any word in the sentence. That was a
solid introduction to recognizing and remembering words.
As well, I could combine the separate skills, learned earlier, in
one activity. I could as a student to spell the 4th word. When that
was done, I could ask, "What word did you spell?" That gave the
students a deep sense of understanding of how letters are combined
to form words. And...how useful the letters are in reading and
writing.
I spent so much time exploring the usefulness of the letter stories
that I didn't fully appreciate what was happening in the children.
They were learning to read!
WHAT WERE THE
RESULTS?
A group of 4 students "graduated"
from my program in November...3 months after I began working with
them. By Christmas, 3 more "graduated." By the end of January, 2
more were successful. Another returned to her regular classroom in
March.
Only one child was not able to "graduate." He was given a
designation of Mildly Mentally Handicapped.
A POWERFUL
EFFECT
By year-end, I understood, clearly,
that what I'd done had had a powerful effect on my students. It
wasn't until the next school year that the real effect became a
reality.
OF THAT GROUP
OF 11 STUDENTS...
10 NO
LONGER NEEDED REMEDIAL WORK!
That is a success rate of 91
percent!
Think of it...91 percent sucess!
Results like those are so very encouraging.
A PROGRAM
GROWS
Each year I worked to include
skills and strategies useful to a first grader. My mimeographed
pages were becoming a book.
There were colorful pictures everywhere on each page. Now we could
talk about color.
There were images to
count...
- inside the
letter...
- outside the
letter...
- in the top half of
the page...
- in the bottom half
of the page...
- to the left and
right of the page.
We could count. We could even guess
at how many and then count to make sure.
I could teach that special class of words that teachers use when
they give directions. They are words that help us define our
world in terms of space, time, and amount.
I continued to achieve good results year after year. I
presented workshops on my approach. Parents, Teacher
Assistants, Literacy Instructors and Assistants, Preschool
Teachers supported my work with positive comments:
"The material
explains what is being taught and specific questions to ask for
each lesson. I know exactly what skills my child is learning."
"Loved the fresh, new approach to preparing Kindergarten
children for Grade One."
"I am impressed by the strategies given."
"This is great material."
A kindergarten teacher used it in
her two classes. Each class had 20 students. At the end of the
school year, she had ONE student she was concerned about. ONE
student who didn't have the skills needed to succeed in first grade.
That achievement convinced me that my program was more than a
remedial program. It could serve ALL students well.
That's how
Annie Ape -- The Magic Bullet to Literacy came to be.
WHY THE ANNIE APE PROGRAM IS IMPORTANT TO YOU
The statistics on
literacy and school drop-out rates are frightening!
Researchers point out that nearly 4 in 10 fourth graders,
nationwide, fail to achieve even partial mastery of the reading
skill needed to succeed in school."
More disturbing are the results reported by Nancy Kerr, that
"...students who are
struggling to read at 3rd grade can be identified earlier, most
by September or October of their kindergarten year." (January
2001 Newsletter of the National Reading Foundation)
Most shocking is the finding that
"What first grade teachers expect...doesn't differ between students
who are adequately prepared...and those who aren't."
PARENT
INVOLVEMENT DOES HELP
Countless studies and articles tell
us that youngsters whose parents are involved in their early
learning achieve significantly more progress that those whose
parents aren't.
I believe that if you make the commitment to help prepare your
child, you will influence your child's destiny.
You CAN prevent lack of success for your child. Helping YOUR
child has proven, predictable and positive outcomes.
What you can't predict, with any degree of certainty, is that the
remedial programs WILL MEET the needs of your child...if you don't
have a hand in her preparation.
What you can predict...and be reasonably sure of it...is your child
will be presented with method and material in which he didn't
thrive...in the first place!
Are you prepared to take that risk?
You CAN prevent a continuing battle with the "system," where
its belief and yours differ on the learning abilities of your child.
Parents have a different kind of wisdom about their children.
And...they have good reasons for their beliefs. After all, the
parents taught the children to walk...to talk..to begin to take
more and more responsibility for their needs. Parents know how their
children learn and how quickly they do so.
If I were to write the next paragraph, in FRENCH...WOULD YOU READ
IT? Probably not, if you don't know French.
And...if you tried to read it...and it were written several times
again...in the hope that you would "GET" it, would it help? Would
the ideas be any clearer to you?
Yet...that's the very approach taken in many remedial settings. More
of the same. If your child doesn't "get" it the first time,
is more of the same going to produce a different result? Not very
likely.
If 85 percent, or more, of students thrive under any specific
system...
and YOUR child DOESN'T
the obvious conclusion is THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH YOUR
CHILD!
It couldn't be the SYSTEM.
If the full set of skills were NOT addressed in Kindergarten, that
conclusion has to be WRONG. It has to be the system that is failing
your child.
Can
you afford to rely on the school to meet all your child's
educational and skill needs?
DO YOU KNOW...I MEAN REALLY
KNOW...WHAT SKILLS ARE BEING TAUGHT?
Do you really know what skills are being taught in your child's
kindergarten class?
If you don't know what skills are necessary, how can you KNOW they
are being taught? You can't!
And if you had the opportunity to pick up the slack,
and DIDN'T...
who would you blame?
Are you willing to face that regret...after you get the first
report card in late Fall of first grade?
The kindergarten teacher may advise you to have your child repeat
the Kindergarten year. She may not be able to tell you exactly
which skills are lacking. So...you think to yourself..."Which kid
fails Kindergarten?" And so...the teacher's advice is over-ruled.
I can't begin to describe to you how deeply sad it is to watch the
parent's regret. She blames herself. And, to a Mom, they all
say:
"I should have kept him in Kindergarten a second year!"
Somehow, they know that the regret will come back to haunt them,
each year, for the next twelve years...and beyond. The effects
are lifelong!
Attitude and
performance levels in first grade predict remarkably well how the
child will be throughout public school years...
UNLESS a timely and effective
remediation program is available in first grade.
Are you willing to take that chance?
Your work, while your child is in Kindergarten, is the most
valuable educational assistance you can offer. It is a gift you
can give your child that has untold benefits. In fact, helping your
child gain the skills needed to learn IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY!
PARTNERS IN
EDUCATION
Parents have begged authorities to
be partners in the educational process. Here's your opportunity to
face and overcome your fears and to take on a shared and equal
responsibility to our child -- yours and the teacher's.
Parents feel inadequate to help their children because they lack
knowledge about the curriculum.
Annie Ape -- The Magic Bullet to Literacy is a program that,
if used in the classroom, would benefit ALL children...not
just those who are not learning well...or children who are predicted
to be at risk of learning failure.
IS YOUR CHILD
WORTH 30 MINUTES A DAY...
FOR 90 DAYS?
Are you willing to risk your
child's future on that commitment of time and effort? Everything
you need to know about helping your child gain the readiness skills
for success are in Annie Ape.
- Would you help your child
if you had a program that would help your child become a
successful learner? Would you do it?
- Would you spend 30 minutes
a day with your child?
- Would you teach your child
the skills needed for success in school?
If you had the
right material in hand, would you do it?
Of course, you would! What parent wouldn't?
YOUR CHILD IS YOUR MOST PRIZED
TREASURE.
As regretful as
disasters are, to a man, the bottom line is always the same:
I, HE, SHE, WE...ARE ALIVE!
WE CAN ALWAYS REBUILD!
Educational
disasters can be rebuilt, as well.
Fortunately, help for
parents is found in Annie Ape.
No need to go to the teachers' store and spend hundreds,
if not a thousand dollars, or more...on lovely...eye-appealing
books...that give you very little BANG FOR YOUR BUCK!
The truth is, you need to know how to make your efforts bring
profitable returns...for you...and for your child.
It's YOUR child's future...and YOURS. I'll let you decide.
Try Dr. Paul's Annie Ape. There is no risk involved.
You've got 60 days to work with it to see how it works with your
child...even if your child is struggling in first grade.
Everything you need to know is in the Easy To Follow Step by
Step Manual and Questions Guide.
FACT:
"Preparation for learning
is far more efficient
-- and cost-effective --
EMOTIONALLY, than remediation!"
The Manual and
Question Strategy book includes pages that tell you
WHAT YOU NEED TO TEACH AND WHY YOU NEED TO TEACH IT.
There are over 40 pages of directions on HOW TO TEACH the
skills suggested, WHEN to introduce a new skill, complete with a
full variety of questions to ask.
Annie Ape was designed with you, the parent, in mind. If you
can read, you can do it. I don't mean to insult you, here.
Each of the letters has its own page to show you how to help your
child learn to print...complete with arrows that tell you where to
start and where to end.
There are practice sheets for printing. Your child begins by tracing
over a series of letters that fade out....with room for your child
to form the letters "on her own."
Everything you need to know is in the Manual and Question Guide...
complete with suggestions... even the questions to ask.
It tells you
how to proceed...
when to combine the
separate skills...
to use them in a new task.
And...it's all done with you, the parent as teacher, in mind.
Yes, you MAY feel a
little uncomfortable when you first start out. There's no point in
denying that.
It's out of your
league.
You are not sure of
what you are doing.
You're not a teacher...with years of training and practice behind
you.
You are fearful of getting it WRONG!
Take heed! I've prepared the process very
carefully.
Annie was written for
parents...with little or no experience.
It is sensible. It backs up your good will, your commitment, and
your effort...
WITH GOOD MATERIAL TO WORK WITH!
If you stick with it, you will find that in no time at all, it will
become
FALLING OFF A
LOG, EASY!
Not only that...you
will gain confidence and you will enjoy the work.
It's so much easier to be confident when you KNOW what needs to be
done before getting into ACTION.
Your home will become an enriched setting for school. It will
benefit your child...
Intellectually and Socially.
Just as important, you will delight in the progress your child is
making!
Consider this...
"The quality of
the home educational environment
is one of the most powerful predictors of cognitive
and social development."
E. Melhuish, Cardiff University
Do you need any more
proof to convince you that your work is important?
Helping your child develop the skills necessary for future school
success is so very important in the kindergarten year. I simply
can't say it often enough.
When you do, you
will know you are having a direct influence on your child's future.
Your heart will fill with love for your child and pride in your
effort. You'll be able to pat yourself on the back and say, "Good
job, Mom!"
You will learn some things, too. You will know how your child learns
best. You will confirm your wisdom about your child.
You will become confident in your ability to continue to help your
child BEYOND Kindergarten.
You will learn and know what questions to ask as you support your
child in the future.
You will know what to teach...
Why you are teaching it...and
How to do it.
Isn't that several cuts above what you've experienced in the past?
"Preschool and
kindergarten experiences that work
toward essential skills, IN THE HOME, help to
combat educational disadvantage and have a marked
effect on literacy."
Your nearness and the
loving attention to your child will communicate TWO lifelong
impressions on your child:
...that you value education
...that your child is worth the time and effort.
A true expression of your love for your child.
More important than a mother's education is what the mother does
with her child.
If she reads to her child...
works on pre-reading skills, and
takes her child to the library...
these are positive influences that affect her child's future!
The take home message is this: Work with pre-reading skills. It's as
simple as that!
The school won't provide you with material -- designed with
the parent in mind -- to help you teach the skills your child
needs...to succeed in first grade.
You are left to do that ON YOUR OWN.
At least until NOW.
Annie Ape will show you WHAT skills are absolutely necessary...
WHY they are important...and
HOW to teach them...
in a manual written with you -- the parent -- in mind.
Annie Ape backs up your effort with the right material to work
with. It is really good material and I know you will be
successful with it.
If you bought ALL the components, separately...assuming they
are available on the market...and...assuming you have the time to
find them...you would spend in the neighbourhood of $1500, or
more.
The bottom line is YOU STILL WOULD NOT HAVE WHAT MY PROGRAM GIVES
YOU.
I know that from my experience on the internet. Vanessa Plummer
knows that, too. Here's what she had to say:
| "The Annie Ape program
was so simple to use that I started the program with my
son the same evening I received it. The package explains
what is being taught and specific questions to ask your
child for that lesson. I know exactly what skills my
child is learning. The Annie Ape Program is a complete
package of early learning that is so inexpensive,
everyone can benefit." Vanessa Plummer |
By the way, her
internet research came up with a cost that was far more expensive
than my estimate. But the best news is that she knew within the
first few minutes of my workshop that
I had what she was looking for!
At the end, she couldn't get her money out of her purse fast enough.
That's how convinced she was.
She was also painfully aware that ...
Low
literacy is strongly related to unemployment,
poverty, and crime.
40% of preschoolers are predicted to be in
that category!
Having children is a
huge responsibility. That includes preparing them in Kindergarten to
succeed in school.
You CAN influence your child's future BY DESIGN rather than
by accident.

won't necessarily remain at $49.
Quite frankly, that's too cheap...Cheap as chips, in fact.
To be quite honest, I'm convinced that many parents are desperately
in need of Annie for their children.
Why? Because I know, from many years of experience that...
Parental involvement in a child's education can MEAN the
DIFFERENCE between an "A"
and an "also-ran."
Bottom line? What do you want for your child?
I made it ridiculously cheap so that parents of lesser means can
give their children
"A LEG-UP"
and not BREAK THE BANK! Interested parents make a huge
difference...regardless of where they live or how much they earn!
More importantly, well-educated children are the taxpayers of the
future!
All kidding aside. The US Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor
Statistics had this to say, a few years ago, about Employment
projections for 2006:
"8 out of 10 of
the fastest growing jobs in the last
decade required either a college education or
moderate to long-term post-secondary education."
In a few minutes you will be
downloading and using “Annie Ape” as well as the brilliant
bonuses and be on your way to ensuring your child get the head
start they deserve.

| “What a mind blowing book and what value, I think you
could sell this for $297 to $345 online. Giving it
away at that price shows you are really driven to get this
into the hands of as many parents, grandparents and helpers
as you can. Having had difficulty myself with reading when I
was young and only discovering I have mild dyslexia later in
life I really understand the points you make about taking
hold of your own child's education. When I discuss these
issues with my mum she is still upset 36 years on that she
allowed the teachers at the time to tell her "Don't educate
your child at home it will just mess them up". Then
they said I was lazy at English, when you look at all my
report cards they all say things like George is energetic,
involved and helpful.
When I showed these to the tester at the Dyslexic school
that I attended at the same time as my MBA she said "I know
you are dyslexic because only a dyslexic is so organised to
save their report cards, also it is obvious that you were
not he lazy one here, it was the teacher. Just because
you did not do well under their system - it must be you.
They didn't bother looking anywhere else, they were just
lazy.”
I was just lucky to have such a supportive family who
kept me on the straight and narrow until I was able to get
it worked out. But I know a lot of my old school
friends who did not make it, not because they were dumb they
were just sold down the river. I see some of them from
time to time when I go home to visit mum, you can see it in
their eyes that they could and should have been so much
more. And all for the want of a few months of
foundation in their reading and writing at a early age.
