The Arithmos
At Kindergarten Tips And Skill Lessons

The Arithmos is a hands-on visual-learning tool. First, it can be used in free exploration and discovery. Next, it is used for understanding and learning the basics of mathematics.

It can be used for counting forward, counting on, counting back, and skip counting.

The Arithmos consists of two distinct number patterns. The front face, hundred board (black numerals) can be used for addition, subtraction, place value, and percentage calculations.

The reverse face, the multiplication matrix (red numerals) can be used for multiplication, division, fractions, square root, and for exploration and discovery.

Compact and virtually indestructible (I've used mine in a small-group setting for about 15 years), it is free of management fuss. The pieces are on a glide within a heavy frame. No lost pieces, rendering the tool useless!

It is better than a number line. Concrete, it is better than a calculator for early learners. It not only yields the answer, it has all the elements leading up to it, which the child can see.

Easy to follow instructions are included, in English and in French. A small work booklet, containing the four arithmetic functions, is included.

A superb tool that will serve you for many years of elementary school.

Recommended for ages 3 to 12! Recommended by the National Council of Teachers of Math
